Cement Concrete Tiles and Paver Blocks –
Paving blocks and cement concrete tiles are precast solid goods created from cement concrete. The product comes in a variety of forms and sizes, including rectangle, square, and round blocks of varying sizes with patterns for interlocking with neighboring tile pieces. Portland cement and aggregates, which are locally accessible in every region of the nation, are the raw materials needed to make the product.
A POTENTIAL MARKET
Pavements, walkways, gardens, passenger waiting sheds, bus stops, businesses, and other public locations all use cement concrete tiles and paving blocks. The substance is frequently used in metropolitan areas for the paving blocks and cement concrete tiles mentioned above. As a result, the unit might be placed close to markets in urban and semi-urban areas. Roads and the footpaths along the sides of the roads are being given a lot of TLC. For ease of installation, superior appearance, and finish, concrete paving blocks are the best choice for walkways. While tiles are frequently utilized outdoors of major buildings and homes, many of these materials are also employed as flooring in public spaces of commercial and residential buildings.
PRINCIPLES AND ASSUMPTIONS
Efficiency: The unit is expected to operate on one shift per day for 25 days per month or 300 days per year. Considered is the 75 percent efficiency of the workforce and the machinery.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF THE FABRICATION PROCESS
Portland cement, aggregates (sand and stone fragments), and water are the main ingredients in cement concrete. Fine aggregates are those that pass through a 4.7 mm IS sieve, while coarse aggregates are those that are held on the sieve. The following steps are used in the production of cement concrete pavement blocks:
- a) Proportioning
- b) Mixing
- c) Compacting
- d) Curing
- e) Drying
For cement concrete paving blocks, a concrete mixture of 1:2:4 (cement: sand: stone chips) by volume with a water to cement ratio of 0.62 may be used. Before mixing, the cement to mixed aggregates volume ratio in the concrete mix should not be higher than 1:6. Combination aggregate fineness modules should fall between 3.6 and 4.0. A concrete mixer with all the raw components inside is turned for 15 minutes. Within the following 30 minutes, the prepared mix is removed from the mixer and consumed. Concrete mix can be compacted in molds of the specified sizes and shapes using a vibrating table. The blocks are demolded and maintained for 24 hours in a shelter away from sunlight after compacting.
